On the morning of February 4, in Tay Hoa commune, Dak Lak province, the Vietnam Red Cross Society in coordination with the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee organized the program Tet for flood affected people Lunar New Year Binh Ngo 2026. The program aims to care for poor households, families of policy beneficiaries, vulnerable people and households affected by storms and floods; through this, it seeks to spread a spirit of compassion and sharing, helping residents welcome the traditional Tet warmly and with solidarity.
Comrade Nguyen Thai Hoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations; and Comrade Ho Thi Nguyen Thao, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee presented gifts to local residents.
Attending the program were Comrade Nguyen Thai Hoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations; Comrade Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; Comrade Ho Thi Nguyen Thao, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Tran Huu The, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial Red Cross, leaders of Tay Hoa commune and a large number of local residents.
Comrade Ho Thi Nguyen Thao, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee,delivered remarks at the program.
In her remarks, Standing Vice Chairwoman Ho Thi Nguyen Thao emphasized that activities under the Tet for flood affected people program are highly practical; they demonstrate the deep concern of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and sponsors for the people of Dak Lak, especially areas affected by natural disasters. She affirmed that Dak Lak province always treats social security and caring for people's livelihoods, particularly the poor and disadvantaged, as a regular and important task.
The humanitarian and sharing activities of the Red Cross have contributed positively to the locality's goal of leaving no one behind; through these efforts, residents are helped to have warmer and more sufficient Tet celebrations. The Standing Vice Chairwoman also expressed hope for continued attention and accompaniment from the Central Vietnam Red Cross Society and charitable organizations and individuals in humanitarian work, poverty reduction and support to help residents overcome difficulties, gradually stabilize and improve their quality of life.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Comrade Nguyen Hai Anhaffirmed that Compassionate Tet is a deeply humane activity; it clearly reflects the Party and State's policy on social welfare and the promotion of the nation's tradition of mutual aid. In the context of many localities, including Dak Lak, being heavily affected by natural disasters, he noted that community support becomes ever more valuable; such support helps people in difficult areas find the motivation to overcome challenges and stabilize their lives. On this occasion, he urged residents to remain steadfast, uphold the spirit of great unity and strive to overcome difficulties to maintain confidence in a bright future for their homeland and country.

At the program, the Vietnam Red Cross Society presented 1,000 gift packages to residents, each worth 1,000,000 VND, including 600,000 VND in cash and 400,000 VND in shopping vouchers.
Residents eagerly chose and shopped at the stalls in the Tet Charity Market.
In addition to gift distribution, the program organized a Compassionate Tet Market with many essential goods stalls; free eye health examinations and consultations; calligraphy gifts and free haircuts; and showcased OCOP products and local traditional products.
Medical staff provided free eye health examinations and consultations to residents at the program.
The Tet for flood affected people program was organized solemnly, practically, safely and for the right beneficiaries; this demonstrated the concern and care of the Party, State and authorities at all levels for communities affected by natural disasters, contributing to a warm and complete Tet for residents.
