The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Dak Lak Province has issued Document No. 214/SVHTTDL-QLDL, dated January 16, 2026, urging local tourism businesses to prioritize facility upgrades and develop engaging experience programs for the upcoming Lunar New Year. The initiative aims to solidify the province's image as a safe, friendly destination that deeply reflects the cultural identity of the Central Highlands.
Improving service quality and price stability
To meet the rising holiday demand from both locals and tourists, the Department requires travel agencies to not only refresh existing itineraries but also proactively launch new tours with special promotions. In particular, the professionalism and attitude of tour guides and drivers are being prioritized to ensure a lasting positive impression on visitors

Tourist sites, museums, and accommodation facilities are required to register and publicly display their prices at reception desks or ticket counters. Selling at prices higher than those listed is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, accommodation providers are encouraged to upgrade their facilities, enhance equipment, and design exclusive "Tet Binh Ngo" packages to draw more visitors to Dak Lak.
Ensuring Absolute Safety for Tourists
Strict measures regarding food safety and public order are mandatory. Businesses are prohibited from selling low-quality food or using harmful coloring agents; furthermore, they must strictly adhere to Ministry of Health regulations by retaining daily food samples.

Crucially, for tourist sites featuring water bodies such as rivers, lakes, and waterfalls, certified rescue personnel must be on duty 24/7. These teams are required to coordinate closely with local health authorities to ensure immediate emergency response. Additionally, all tourist transport vehicles must undergo regular technical inspections, while drivers and service staff must hold valid professional tourism training certificates.
Temporary suspension of activities at 3 major waterfalls
In this document, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism particularly advises tourists and residents about the temporary suspension of visitor access at 03 waterfalls due to inadequate facilities and rescue safety conditions: Krong Kmar Waterfall (Krông Bông commune); Dray K'nao Waterfall (M'Drắk commune); Thuy Tien Waterfall (Krông Năng commune - Phú Xuân commune). The Department requests the People's Committees of the relevant communes to direct strict inspections and reminders regarding the prohibition of visitor access at these locations to prevent unfortunate incidents.
Strengthening Inspection and Oversight
To ensure optimal conditions for Tet Binh Ngo 2026, the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will deploy an inspection team from January 26 to February 6, 2026. Tourism businesses are mandated to provide rapid reports on service outcomes (including visitor numbers, total revenue, and safety status) on the 4th and 6th days of the Lunar New Year. Any incidents affecting visitor health or safety must be reported immediately to the Tourism Management Division for prompt intervention and support. Driving Growth through Heritage and Technology
With a strategy that views festivals as a catalyst and heritage as the foundation, Dak Lak targets approximately 8 million visitors in 2026, with total tourism revenue projected at 16 trillion VND.
The province is also accelerating digital transformation in tourism development. Specifically, the Provincial People's Committee is building a comprehensive digital database for the tourism sector (including tourist sites, accommodations, travel agencies, tour guides, and services) integrated with the national system. Additionally, the sector is developing a smart tourism application and a digital map to provide real-time information on services, transportation, safety, and weather, thereby enhancing the visitor experience…

In 2026, Dak Lak plans to develop 1-2 community-based tourism models integrated with local heritage. The province will also pilot a specialized heritage and geology route, connecting “sea, forest, and community tourism villages” to evaluate and expand the regional tourism network.
According to Mr. Dao My, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, the province will go beyond organizing festive events by focusing on attracting strategic investors to exploit local tourism resources. Key priorities include calling for investment in eco-tourism, luxury resorts, entertainment complexes, and large-scale tourism service providers. Additionally, Dak Lak will reorganize service hubs, local product showcases, and entertainment zones to optimize the visitor experience.
