On April 4, a preliminary Conference on reviewing socio-economic development, safeguarding defense and security for the 1st quarter (Q1) and implementing 2nd – quarter (Q2) tasks was held by Dak Lak PPC. Attending the Conference were Mr. Y Bier Nie, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and representatives of relevant departments, sectors. The Conference was chaired by Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi-Chairman of Dak Lak PPC.

On 1st April 2016 morning, the Conference which summarized the activities of 2015 and set tasks of 2016 was organized by Dak Lak’s Steering Committee for prevention and combat of crimes, social evils and building a mass movement of national security protection.

According to the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) report in 2015 released on March 31, 2016, Dak Lak province ranks 23rd among 63 provinces nationwide, increasing by 07 grades from its position of the PCI 2014 report. Among provinces of Central Highlands, Lam Dong ranks 21st, Dak Lak at 23rd, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Nong at 47th, 52nd, and 63rd, respectively. The central city of Da Nang maintains its status as the most competitive locality in the country, topping the PCI 2015.

Dak Lak Provincial Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese (ALOV-DL) held its 3rd Congress for 2015-2020 tenure on March 29, 2016. Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Eban Y Phu, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak PCC Nguyen Hai Ninh, Vice Chairman of the Central ALOV- Prof. Nguyen Lan Dung, Members of the Association, and leaders of provincial departments and sectors were present.

On March 22, the delegation of Danish experts led by Prof. Jorn Hermann Walter Dosch had a meeting with Dak Lak PPC on reviewing the implementation of programs and projects supported by Denmark during the period of 2000-2015 in the presence of Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi - Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the PPC and representatives of provincial relevant departments and sectors.

In response to the 2016 Earth Hour Campaign, Dak Lak youths held meaningful activities to call for everybody to save up power and join hands to protect the environment.
