In the afternoon of March 5, Ministry of Information and Communications held a ceremony to grant communication means in Buon Ma Thuot City. It was implemented under the National Target Program on making information accessible to residents of mountainous and remote areas, border communities and islands in the Central Highlands provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai.

On March 03rd, the Dak Lak Provincial Election Committee (DPEC) organized its second meeting to promulgate the Instruction No.38 by the Central Organization Commission dated Jan 30th, 2016 on the issue of deputies to 14th National Assembly and the People’s Council at all levels for the 2016-2021 tenure, as well as review the activities of the DPEC’s Subcommittees. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Y Bier Nie – Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, President of DPEC with the participation of the DPEC’s members, Heads of Subcommittees and the supporting team.

On March 4, PPC received and worked with the delegation of Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development to evaluate the Project “Water Efficiency Improvement in Drought Affected Provinces”. Attending the meeting were Mr. Y Dham Enuol – Standing Vice chairman of PPC, representatives of relevant local departments and sectors. The working delegation was led by Mr. Sanath Ravawana – senior expert in economics and natural resources of ADB Bank and the participation of members represented for units directly under Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development.

To promote the propaganda activities of Buon Don Ethnic Traditional Festivals in 2016, a planned program of festival’s activities including contents, time and venues for each activity has just issued by the People’s Committee of Buon Don District.

On 2nd March, the Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting with the Subcommittee on Drought Prevention and Fight to evaluate the situation of irrigation water resources for production as well as take measures of drought fight in Winter-Spring crop of 2015-2016. The attendees were representatives of Departments, Boards and Sectors, People’s Committees of districts, Town and City. Standing Vice Chairman Y Dham Enuol chaired the meeting.

Dak Lak is now home to only 44 individuals of domesticated elephants, according to Mr. Huynh Trung Luan-Director of Dak Lak Elephant Conversation Center.
