On August 23rd, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in collaboration with the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee (PPC), Friedrich Naumann Foundation Viet Nam held a regional conference on international integration and sustainable development in the new situation, issues set for localities and businesses. The conference had the participation of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Tan, Head of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Training Huynh Thi Chien Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Canh, Assistant to the Foreign Minister Nguyen Van Thao, experts from the Vietnam Institute of Economics, Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development, VCCI and more than 50 delegates from the Central Highlands and South Central provinces.

On the morning of August 01st, the delegation of U.S. Consulate General in Vietnam (the delegation) led by H.E. Caryn R. McClelland, Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Vietnam, paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee Eban Y Phu and Dak Lak PPC’s leaders. On July 13th, the 4th French Songs Festival of the Central - Central Highlands provinces and Cultural Exchange between Vietnam – France in 2018 hosted by Dak Lak provincial Union of Friendship Organizations were officially launched in Buon Ma Thuot City. The Festival had the participation of leaders of 17 teams coming from 12 provinces in the Central and Central highlands regions and 05 provinces in the south-western region; students, Vietnamese living and studying in France; students from schools and colleges in Buon Ma Thuot City.
