From April 2 to 3, a delegation from the Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, led by Comrade Y Giang Gry Nie Knong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak Province, visited and extended Bunpimay Traditional New Year greetings in Champasak Province.
During the reception, Comrade Suksavanh Vilayvong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Administration Committee of Champasak, provided an overview of the local socio-economic situation. As the most dynamic center in southern Laos, Champasak possesses unique advantages in geography and resources, particularly the Bolaven Plateau area.

In its development orientation for the next five years, Champasak Province has identified key focus areas, including light industry, logistics services, and agriculture. These sectors aim to enhance value-added production, leverage the gateway advantages of the Mekong subregion to promote cross-border trade, and achieve sustainable development.
Comrade Suksavanh Vilayvong expressed his delight at the visit and Bunpimay Traditional New Year greetings from the Dak Lak delegation, affirming the determination to deepen and strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two localities in the coming period.

On behalf of the delegation, Comrade Y Giang Gry Nie Knong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak Province, expressed sincere gratitude for the warm, thoughtful, and respectful reception from the leadership of the host province. He extended heartfelt congratulations on the successful conclusion of the Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and provided a brief update on Vietnam's recent successful organization of the National Assembly and People's Council elections at all levels.
Assessing the bilateral relationship, Comrade Y Giang Gry Nie Knong noted the positive outcomes achieved from the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for the 2022–2026 period, signed on December 29, 2021. Notably, the project by Dak Lak Rubber Company (DAKLAORUCO), with a total investment of over 83.15 million USD, has created jobs for more than 2,500 workers and made significant contributions to the local budget and social welfare.

Comrade Y Giang Gry Nie Knong proposed that the two provinces continue to evaluate the results of cooperation for the 2021-2026 period and discuss and agree on the contents of cooperation for the next phase.
On the occasion of the New Year, Comrade Y Giang Gry Nie Knong extended New Year greetings of happiness and peace to the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Champasak Province; wishing for the cooperative relationship between the Party, Government, and people of the two provinces to become increasingly close, friendly, and cooperative for mutual development, contributing to nurturing the special Vietnam-Laos relationship to remain ever-green and everlasting.
*Within the framework of the working program in Champasak Province, on the morning of April 3, the working delegation of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee visited Dak Lak Rubber Company Limited (Daklaoruco) and met with and inquired about the Vietnamese community in Champasak Province.
During the visit and working session with the Vietnamese Association in Champasak Province, on behalf of the working delegation, Comrade Truong Cong Thai – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee provided information on the socio-economic situation of the locality, sharing about the positive changes following the merger, which opened up new potentials and strengths in socio-economic development and investment attraction for the province.
Comrade Truong Cong Thai expressed his joy at the stability and development of the overseas Vietnamese community over many generations, while also hoping that the community would continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, comply well with the laws of the host country, and always look toward their roots, contributing to fostering the special friendship between the two countries of Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Dak Lak Province and Champasak Province in particular.
Reporting to the delegation, Comrade Dong Cong Dung, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Champasak Province, stated that the community currently consists of approximately 1,100 households with over 4,780 individuals. The living standards of the community are comparable to the local population, with 90% of households achieving a middle to affluent status. In addition to business activities, the Association has provided legal support to nearly 500 individuals for stable residency and assisted 78 small business households in registering their businesses in compliance with regulations.

In recent years, the Vietnamese Association in Champasak Province has effectively played a core role in connecting the community, preserving national cultural identity, and strictly adhering to the laws of the host country. Notably, the education of the Vietnamese language for the younger generation has always been a priority. The Friendship Primary School in the province currently has 15 classrooms with 18 teachers and 370 students (of which 70% are Lao children). This is a private school model managed by the Association, making an important contribution to maintaining the Vietnamese language and fostering the special Vietnam-Laos friendship.

On behalf of the Vietnamese community in Champasak Province, Comrade Dong Cong Dung expressed his deep gratitude and sincere thanks for the attention of the leaders of Dak Lak Province, while affirming that they would continue to closely coordinate with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse and the relevant authorities of the host country to support the community in stabilizing their lives, contributing to further strengthening the comprehensive cooperative relationship between the two Parties, two States, and the peoples of Vietnam and Laos.
